Day 2


May 14

Heading north, we will drive through Lake Mead Recreational Area and Valley of Fire State Park.  We finally arrive in Utah.

Heading north, we will by pass Las Vegas and drive through Henderson on our way to Lake Mead Recreational Area – www.nps.gov/lame.  Lake Mead is the large reservoir behind the Hoover Dam and provides sought after water sports in this dry desert.  After winding our way past Lake Mead, we will visit Valley of Fire State Park.  When you see the expanse of deep red rocks you will see where this little state park got its name.

In the afternoon we will traverse through the Virgin River Canyon on our way to Springdale Utah.  We will spend the night at the Bumbleberry Inn - www.bumbleberry.com.

There are envelopes for a $6.00 fee for traveling through the park.
We will tour the park and be ending up in Springdale, UT
