Text Box: The 2007 Big Bear Run

This is the 17th Official running of the Big Bear Run which started in 1989 as SOCALM and San Diego were one in the same. United this run started it all as a chance to leave the city and enjoy the cool mountain roads of the Big Bear Lake Area.
Tom and Marna Wood have been doing this run for the last few years and enjoy sharing their mountains with the many clubs that come from all over to partake in this historic run.
This year there is a starting point in Redlands California (10:30) with places nearby to grab a small breakfast or a Starbucks coffee to wake up with. We say small or early breakfast as the lunch stop planned (11:30) Los Rios Rancho has some of the best bar-b-que ever! There will be a menu to look at and we will let the restaurant know what the choices are from those having lunch with us. We have arranged to have our sandwiches available when we arrive and we won’t have to wait in the ordering line – try and bring some small change – the lunch meal is about $10.25 + tip or you can get just a sandwich for less than $7.00. And of course there is pie and ice-cream for desert; you may have to wait in line for that? Just check back on either the socalm.org web site or the miatafun.net for updated information. They have really nice restrooms also. After lunch we will venture into the mountains some more to the Big Bear lake area and visit the Discovery Center for a pit stop and drinks and to look around ˝ Hr.
After more mountain roads the SAHUARO Miata club may have a dinner planned for us to join them for a little camaraderie and share some stories.
All in all a great time, great roads, and the best company you could ask for, your Miata Friends and wonderful cars.
